Lane Carrandi: I am 22 years old and attended one day of surfing lessons at Caloundra Surf School. Russel, my instructor, was extremely organized and helpful. I was a complete beginner- had never surfed before- and was able to stand up by the end of our morning session. Then, I was confident enough to hire a surf board for the rest of the week. Russel continued to support me and give me tips whenever I saw him at the beach.
Claymore Thistle - Relocate with Claymore: We bunked off work and went for a surf lesson instead and what a great morning it was! We would definitely recommend these guys, they knew what they were talking about and we will def be trying surfing again soon!

When I type Caloundra surf school it brings up you guys but if there is a way for you to change the name on google so it says North Caloundra surf school because it would be unfortunate if anyone else had a bad experience with them and spread the wrong word about your surf school. Sorry about that, I changed the rating.

Carly P: John is a phenomenal teacher. Knowledgeable, patient and explains everything clearly. Checks to make sure everyone understands before continuing and gives excellent one-to-one assistance to every person in the lesson. Would 100% recommend him to anyone - from beginner to experienced.
Stephanie Bradley: John was the best! My son and I did a group lesson with some other family members and the whole experience was so professional, welcoming and friendly. He spent plenty of time making sure we had all the gear and were set up and comfortable, and then spent even more time on the sand showing us the basics so that we felt we had the knowledge to get out there and give it a go. We never felt rushed, we had plenty of help and feedback and ample time to have a go while having fun and feeling safe and supported. We even received follow up messages with personal feedback on the day that was spot on. Would 10/10 recommend and we will definitely be back. Cannot recommend highly enough. A very professional, friendly business owner who clearly cares that everyone enjoys themselves and feels that they’ve achieved something.

Steven Ha: Absolutely amazing surf lessons!I booked for a lesson for myself and was placed with 4 others. John and Ryan were terrific coaches. Coming up to the day, John was always prompt and detailed with his communications. On the day itself, he provided a lesson full of charisma and strong guidance. By the end of the lesson, the entire group was thrilled in being able to stand up on their boards.Even after the lesson was over, John went above and beyond to provide advice on how to continue this newfound hobby.

I have been around the beach all my life, but I learned so much about waves, rips, sweeps, swells and gutters from John. I am so glad I took my sons on this lesson because I had little idea about much of the safety information that John took us through before we even entered the water.My boys have never surfed before but John had them standing and surfing within 30 mins.I did not have so much luck, but I am not agile the way they are.Thoroughly recommend John and Caloundra Surf School

Alan Ainsworth: I caught up with Robbie on the beach between one of his lessons, he was so approachable I explained I’m 7 months into a bi lateral knee replacement and I’ve lost a lot of fitness and I’m adapting to my new knees, he suggested some exercises and to just get out there and paddle to get my paddle fitness up again, and when I was ready and had a clearance, to give him a call, after to speaking to Robbie and Josh, they paired me up Surf Coach Harry, who took the time to come up with a different pop up technique due too limited knee movement in my left knee, so out we went and I’m up an going again, such a great crew and confidence booster to getme back in the water and surfing again, I can’t recommend Robbie Sherwell Surfing and the crew enough, if your just starting or like me haven’t surf in ages or after injuries get down to the beach and let them give you a new life skill you can enjoy for life

No matter you are a beginner or even a first time without any experience, the instructors can always give your the proper and best advices.The reservation goes so smooth and easy, a few clicks on their website and then you are ready to go. The board is well-serviced, wet-suit is clean and available to all size.Rachel will help you to organize that and give you the warm greetings while you are there every time. My instructors are Jye and Craig, they helped me to first time finally can stand on the board and started to surf. They are super kind to every student, help a lot, passion to teach and handle every situation perfectly.If you have time, I will definitely suggest have the three-sessions package, you won't regret. They are the best school.

Got us all up standing in the first 10 minutes and were so good with the kids. My wife who “hates the beach” loved it and made us all have a second session the following day. Absolute bargain, can’t recommend highly enough. If you’re tossing up which company to go with, choose this one.
